University of Wisconsin Eau Claire Spring Graduating Class Experiencing High Job Placement, and Low Unemployment Rates
The state of Wisconsin is reported one of the lowest unemployment rates in history for the state at 2.9%. This was released by the Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development. This is encouraging higher rates of job placement for new graduates in the state of Wisconsin and offers a promising future for young professionals.
The undergraduate placement numbers exceed what we saw before the pandemic hit in 2020 and reported a jump from 96.8% to 97.6% for job placement rates. This is reported by the University of Wisconsin Eau Claire advising, retention, and career center. This increase could be due to the factors involving continuing education for undergraduate students going on to get more education, or moving forward and obtaining jobs in the professional workplace.
With this higher placement of post-grad jobs for undergraduate seniors, they are able to have a variety of opportunities to choose from. This allows them to explore what they are really passionate about and takes the stress off the student from having that abundance of opportunities.
Some students at the University of Wisconsin Eau Claire expressed that they are actually more willing to continue their education rather than getting a professional job right away. Accounts reported to the University of Wisconsin Eau Claire show that the University is making them well prepared for anything that they have to navigate through in the future. This is a unique advantage for the students because they have that autonomy and do not need to worry about getting into the workforce along with the high placement rates in 2022. For example, one of the senior students at the university, Julia Ratz stated that “I feel prepared, even though I don’t have a job lined up, but I think UW-Eau Claire and the faculty are just phenomenal at getting us ready and having us think about things before we graduate.”
We are thrilled to hear that we are having success in the city of Eau Claire in preparing our young professionals and student for a bright future.
