Eau Claire Area School District Employer Tours:
The Eau Claire Are School district is working with the Eau Claire Area Chamber of Commerce to set up opportunities for Middle School students to tour local employers in the area. The local employers will have a chance to show young students how the local workforce does good things for the community and inspire young students to continue to pursue strong career goals. The students will also have a chance to ask questions and see how they can succeed from where they are currently as middle schoolers.
Former President of the United States of America John Quincy Adams wrote,
“If your actions inspire others to dream more, do more and become more, you are a leader.”
The dates for the tours are:
- Northstar – November 15, 2022
- Altoona – February, 22 2023
- Delong – March 7, 2023
- South – March 9, 2023

The career tours follow the school district’s academic success system and help students see how their current academic requirements are important to their future. In middle school, students are in earlier adolescent development and are struggling to find an identity. With this struggle, middle school students are at risk of becoming less engaged in important aspects of their life which will can have lasting consequences on both the
ir physical and mental health. Career tours like these can help provide motivation and help young adolescents stay engaged in
important aspects in their lives while they go through development. It’s important that the local workforce takes these tours seriously and engage the students. Both can benefit from the tours.
American Baptist, minister and Civil Right activist Martin Luther King Jr. wrote,
“The function of education is to teach one to think intensively and to think critically. Intelligence plus character – that is the goal of true education.”
