Fall 2024 Election: Early Voting & Absentee Information
ATTENTION...Mark your calendars!
We're now approaching the prime election season this fall where candidates for U.S. Senate, Congress, and State Legislature will be set for the November 5th General Election. Wisconsin voters will also weigh in on two amendments to the State Constitution this year.
There are three critical ways to vote this fall: In-person on November 5th, mail-in ballots by absentee, or in-person absentee (before the election).
Local voters have the option to vote ahead of Election Day by casting absentee ballots if they choose rather than heading to the polls in November. These ballots are mail-in options which you will be able to find per city of residency in this post.
What happens if I have not registered to vote?
- No worries! If you are planning to vote by mail, you must register no later than October 16th. If you are planning on registering online, the deadline is also October 16th. November 1st is the deadline to register in person, at your municipal clerk's office.
What happens if I don't make any of these deadlines?
- That is okay! You can register to vote on election day, November 5th, at your polling location.
For more information, review the deadlines for voter registration.
You can also request your absentee ballot today and return it via mail or in person (more details below on where to return it in person). Go to myvote.wi to register to vote, request your absentee ballot, view who is on your ballot, or find out your polling location.
Find out your polling location here.
On Election Day, polls are open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.
